Archeological studies have a "humanistic" and a "scientific" aspect, that is, the study of antiquarian sources in the library on one side and the field survey of ancient monuments on the other.
The Accademia Project, of which the first results are published here, proves that only by comparing the data of the study of ancient sources and those of the field survey can new discoveries be made and previous mistakes corrected.
